Event title: Early intervention in workers compensation
Event location: Level 3 Conference Centre, 25 McCourt Street Subiaco
Event time: 2:00PM-4:00PM (Refreshments served)
Event description:
Most patients follow an uncomplicated recovery following a work injury. Unfortunately, a proportion of patients follow a protracted course with the development of chronic pain and disability. These patients are time-consuming and difficult to manage.
Recent clinical guidelines have therefore focused on preventing the onset of chronic disability. There have been further developments since the guidelines were published.
Roger Lai will present up-to-date practical tools and tips on preventing chronic disability. John Liddell will discuss when and where surgery for low back pain is appropriate and beneficial.
